Arriving in Kyoto
This is a sample entry so the site builds and you can see the layout. Replace it with your first real post once the migration is done.
The prose carries the whole story, which is the editorial model we are keeping. A photo can sit beside a paragraph, but the words should stand on their own so a reader using a screen reader, or on a slow connection with images off, still gets the full day.
Getting there
We landed early and took the train south. The carriage was almost empty and the light came in low across the rice fields.

By the time we found the ryokan the rain had started, soft and warm, and the whole lane smelled of old cedar.
